bought a used tank, it came with a nitrate reactor. he had it running, we just sealed it up and brought it home. problem is, its sat like that for 2 weeks now. and the tank is still being set up, I hope to start filling i this weekend, take almost a week to fill, then you figure 2-3 weeks before any nitrates actually get produced. well over a month at that point.
with no nitrates for it to consume, I fear the water in there is toxic, and the bacteria has all died... true? to add to that, I honestly dont even know what goes into a nitrate reactor... so if I do need to dump it all out and start over from scratch, what would I need to buy?
