At the moment I have just a pair of captive bred clownfish in my 48x24x24 DT.
The only two other fish I am sure about wanting are a Regal Tang and a Flame Angel.
Could I get away with a Yellow Tang as well if I added it at the same time as the Regal?

Fish compatibility is a hit-and-miss issue. In general, similar sized or shaped tangs don't usually get along very well. I tried a Purple and Yellow tang together in the same tank, and they fought constantly. Others report no problems mixing tangs. You could give it a try, being ready to remove one and adopt it out should they not get along.

I added a powder brown after a yellow. The yellow tang wasn't too crazy about my idea, but he got over it in a week. I've read adding them together will help relieve territorial issues...or re arranging rock. It's mostly about territorial rights from what I gather.

Tangs will usuially get along as long as they dont look the same. For instance you dont wanna put a powder blue and powder brown in the same tank or a flame fin and kole etc. I have a regal, yellow, powder blue, and a kole. Ive been thinking about getting a naso but he and the kole might fight.

When it comes to tangs you have to roll the dice! I just got a Sohal Tang and a clown tang in my 75g and they are very peaceful! most times it wouldn't be the smartest idea to do so!

I have yellow, regal, sailfin and powder blue tangs and they all get along great with each other
Is like Dr. Joey said--its the luck of the draw
I would worry about the flame angel it I had another dwarf angel in the tank--that would be more problematic then angels and tangs together

That's amazing creatine2k1 got a Sohal and Clown tang in the same tank. I had a Sohal and he hated any other tang I put in there. I agree with the general rule of different shape and size should work. Right now have a purple and hippo and no problems what so ever.

Do you have all of those in a 110g?

Is there likely to be a problem with the Flame Angel then? I have heard that they can have a bad attitude?

Is there likely to be a problem with the Flame Angel then? I have heard that they can have a bad attitude? Once again, dwarf angels can be hit or miss in tanks. I've successfully kept a Flame in a reef tank with no nipping at corals, but unfortunately, it jumped and went carpet surfing. Other dwarf angels immediately start nipping at corals and must be removed and returned to the LFS.

Add the regal, then the flame, then the yellow in that order and you should be fine. Regals are very doscile so there shouldnt be any issues. Flame might pick at your corals so watch him. As long as he is well fed you should be fine but its a roll of the dice. Yellow is a litle more agressive but a good hardy tang and should get along with everyone. I would try to get a yellow that is same size or smaller than the regal if possible.

I have the same in my 110gal--yellow, regal, sailfin, powder blue and a foxface that thinks it is a tang:D
I just feed them clonazepam with their spirulina alage and everyone is a happy camper:lol:
