Hello everyone.

Iv been keeping an Amazon black water bio-tope for 2 years and am now moving onto marine. I recently has a heater malfunction that "boiled" the tank and i lost most of my live stock. So I have an almost empty 100g RENA tank. Iv been tempted to get a marine tank for ages and cant hold my self back. My LFS has said he would tank my remaining cardinal tetras and plec off me and give me a discount on salt etc.

I already have a 35GPD RO unit so water is covered. And OFC the 100g tank. Current lighting is 5xT5 36 watt lights.

On my list so far is:

2 Tunze 6025 (planning on doing the extra flow mod).
Eheim 1260 Sump return pump.
A 30 gallon sump. ( local pets@home sell bare bones tanks that i plan to just cut some acrylic baffles for)
SCWD gadget for the sump return to alternate flow.
Live rock
TMC V2 Skim 400 Skimmer.
Sand for substrate.
Mics plumbing supplys for over flow and sump return.

Not sure about a 150W 12K halide light.

Im very new at this so would like to know if i have missed anything.

Just to give you an idea i want. Im planning on a low fish population. Just a shoal of 15 chromies. With some inverts and lots of soft corals and one or 2 hard corals. I have a personal prefrance for shoals of small fish over one or 2 larger fish. Im aiming for a coral dominated tank and coral culturing more than anything.

So with that in mind I have 2 or 3 questions.

Is a SCWD worth it?

Am I OK with 15 chromies in one tank and could i add more? I cant seem to find a "1 inch per gallon rule" marine equivalent.

Eheim is a top quality brand name in fresh water filters. Is this the same with marine pumps or would any one recommend an other pump.

Is there anything else i'm missing at the moment. Dont want to rush into things and buy stuff that is pointless.
