At what stage of the game should one consider a phosban reactor?
And how necessary is it?

IMO they would be great right from the start. 2 would be better though 1 for GFO and 1 for carbon.

IMO I wouldn't, due to the fact the GFO will last longer than the carbon. also GFO needs lower flow than carbon.

I always run carbon, and change it out every 2-3 weeks. so yes carbon is always in there.

So you have two diff reactors with two diff pumps? One running something like phosban and the other carbon?

i use maxijets. 404 for the phosban and a 600 for the carbon. but still have to turn them down a little to get the flow I want.

I run my setup chained together from 1 pump, and adjust my flow according to the GFO media:

i have a question about this also. Should i use the whole can of phosban for my 75? it says it will do 150 but should i use the whole thing ?

No I wouldn't use the whole thing. The recommended dosage can appear small but it's all you need. Too much can cause you other problems.

How often do you change out the media in the phosban reactor?

Another question, my sump has three compartments -
fed from the tank - skimmer>fuge>return
Which area should feed the reactor and which area should the reactor return to? Or does it not matter?

I use the carbon and GFO from bulkreefsupply.com. I change the GFO once a month.

sence I run an external skimmer now, my reactors are placed in the used to be skimmer section and they return to the return section.
