So I've been watching some of my zoos closing up, and now they look as if they're melting, or something..

This is what they looked like before I moved them.

I've now mover them to the front of my tank so I can try and examine them more often... I've not seen any nasties munching on them as yet.

They improved a bit, but you can see that 2/3s of the colony look like gonners.....

I've not dipped them, Nitrates in my tank were creeping up (15-20), as I lost a wrasse the other day,

I've done 40% water change since then, and the nitrates levels are coming down (5-10). Also my temp peaks around 81/82F with all the lights on.

I've also started dosing with vit C.

any ideas?

the first one shows, looks like algea growing on them. the second picture does show them doing better dont see the brown too much.

are they getting a little more flow in that area?

they do look better i woudnt move them from there and keep going at it.

I think you'll see improvements with the VC. Just be patient, it may take a month. Some of those don't look like you'll save though.

What a difference a few days makes. So the second pic was when I'd moved them to get more flow (think I need to beef my flow up in the old location).

I added more VC as per the direction on the bottle, and already a few more polyps are recovering, of the 10 heads, probably 6/7 are recovering and open.

How long after you added the VC did they look like they do in the above picture? The first pic was posted on 7/14 and the above picture was posted on 7/18. Did they recover that quickly?

PP, are you holding out on us? Have you developed liquid VC and are now selling it in a bottle? Come on, what's your secret? You go girl !!!

I think all you're seeing here is the natural progression of recovering zoanthids, ones that started to revoved after you moved them in the second pic and have just continues to do so.
