I got some uncured rock along with some base rock about two weeks ago and put it in a tub with a skimmer to cure it. Well, ammonia is now at 0 already and nitrites are dropping fast. But the new tank I bought it for won't be ready to receive the rock or any fish for at least two more weeks if not four since we're in the middle of doing some renovations to the house. Should I put a dead shrimp in there or something to encourage my bacterial colony to keep growing and not die off in the absence of ammonia?
