Hybrids

How are hybrids made? Does it happen naturally, or in some secret lab somewhere?

I saw in a store the other day a torch/frogspawn hybrid... how does that work? obviously not through sexual reproduction, or I'd start pumping Barry White into my tank.

Where do all the awesome zoanthid colors come from? Are they all natural, or is there some interbreeding going on somewherE?

that is an interesting question. from what i can tell and have seen and read, with zoa's most of the colors are from the wild, and some are from ones that morph over time in a certian tanks condition.

I would go as far as to venture a guess that there are people out there that are minipulating tank conditions to try and morph some zoa's and paly's faster than they would normally do in our reef aquaria.

but i have never seen a hybrid Euphyllia. but with another guess here, i would venture to say that it was just a wild caught Euphyllia paradivisa or divisa that seemed to have longer tenticles than the normal incomers. I would say it was a selling ploy, but have no proof to back that and would like to be proven wrong with some articals to see how they would go about crating hybrids.
