I bought these for $10 each at underwateroutlet.com, that monti has a very white base, looks kind of blue in the pics

looks like it , the base is very white though instead of blue though

I think you will end up with a superman after the base colors up. For $10 you hit the Jackpot. Nice score.

i'd say it's a green base orange polyp digi/samarensis

Digi polyps look different. It's definitely an encrusting monti. It will take longer than a few days to color up.

No, I'm with twon. This looks like a montipora samarensis , which DO have similar polyp structure to most encrusting montis. I have two of them, one of which I thought could have been a bleached superman at first too. I'd put money on it that the coral shown will branch out as it's main growth pattern, rather then encrust.
