I'm getting ready to build my cabinet for my 60Gallon cube and I wanted to make sure if I fumed (http://www.woodweb.com/knowledge_base/Fuming_white_oak.html) the White Oak I would have no ammonia residue that could interfere with the tank.

Thank You all,

Joshua

p.s. Yes I'm being paranoid.

I wouldn't worry about it.

You have to let it sit and outgas when it has reached the desired patina anyhow and you are going to seal it.

I have fumed lumber several times with no ill effect on anything.

Should be fine. I assume you are doing an Arts and Crafts piece?

Thanks Dantimdad,

I was pretty sure that was the case but I wanted to make sure before I built the stand.

p.s. Thanks all for your responses.
