There is some cobweb looking stuff on some of my green buttons. Does that mean they are dead?

Sounds like coral slime to me. Usually LPS & LPS coral produce slime when disturbed or when producing waste (or just because if its a green bali slimer), but I would think zoanthids could produce slime too.
Is it a new addition? If not has anthing in the tank (like parameters) changed to effect the happiness of your coral (that right there is a Dr. Phil statment..LOL)? Do you have any SPS or LPS near the zoas that could have produced the slime and had the current carry it over?

there is a snail called vermetid snails that can make webs in the water.
Do a google on them and see if you have any around the polyps. Also
are the polyps seem to be bothered by it?
Any leather corals around?

It is a new addition to the tank. The tank itself is very new.
I did have it near a yellow leather, but I moved it. It is now next to a star.
Can someone explain to me what LPS and SPS is?
Thanks.

Here is a picture to help diagnose the problem. Scroll the pic to the right to also see the one that is 1/2 open.
Thanks.

Don't worry about them so much, they are hard to kill.

I'm not 100% sure but can Sea spiders leave webbing over polyps?
Over all corbett is right they are hardy.

These guys were very hardy at the store. They were a day or 2 when I brought them home and then poof!
