I read in the ultralith manual that there is a way to use Ultralife and ultrabio to deal with cyanobacteria. The last paragraph is a little confusing, has anyone used these for cyanobacteria and where can these products be found?

For the dosing instructions for 100l of tank volume add 2 drops of UltraBio, a half tablespoon of Ultralife and 2 drops of UltraBio. So is the UltraBio added at a rate of 4 drops per 100l ? And is it necessary to use the Biofood at all. Thanks for the info. Mike

Hi
Thank you, what parameters would you like to know? My phosphate is between 0.06 and 0.08. Alkalinity is between 9.6 and 10.2 dKh and Calcium is 450 to 480. I have not measured nitrate in awhile but it was 19.0ppm sometime ago. The tank has been set up for several years, mostly soft corals. Thanks again for your help. Mike

Hi Mick

Did you can make a new Po4 test but this time
heat the water for 3 - 4 minutes over 70 C° after cooling the testwater make the Po4 test again
also i need the actual No3 Test

Why your Ca level is so high
which salinity you have ?

Hi Claude, It will take a couple of weeks to get to this particular tank again, I work with an aquarium service company and see the tank 2 times a month. The salinity is 32ppt. The CA had been low for sometime, below 240. What Ca level do you recommend and would this affect cyano growth? Thanks for your help. I have several other aquariums with cyano problems so I would like to understand the problem better. Mike

HI

Mostly the growing from Cyanos is coming if you had following problems

1. a higher P04 level then No3 ( it is possible that is not all Po4 detectable
2. a massiv problem with the tabwater ( included silicate and others)

The most tanks which have this problems has a big po4 depot , old or dead live rock
And mostly not many animals in the tank
The water has only a little bit or 0.0 No3

The best way is to change some rocks to fresh live rock or change some aragonite and have a looked that more corals come in
and also add some No3 to the tank if the level is to low

I need the actual parameter to say what is to do
many greets Claude
