ummmm is it crusty and stuck on the rock?? if its thin like paper and has no depth i would say its just coralline algae, if it has some depth it might be a sponge of some sort.

o i thought it may be like something else because the coaline is pinker and less purple

db coraline has many colors ,just because you have pink dosn't mean you won't see purple,red, green ,yellow,orange ,etc.:) To me it looks like green star polyps trying to open up.
