I thought this might be a fun thread, to see alot of different kinds of red zoanthids, any kind of red.
Please who pics of them if you've got any.
I can't start because I don't have any. :p

Looks like you've got three different kinds there, is that right?
Oh I forgot, Let's all give some info about your red zoas too;
How long have you had them Rendos?
On a scale of 1-5, (5 being hardest), how easy or difficult were these colonies for you to maintain to get them to the size they are currently?

Rendos, JMontgomery, shwe, nellahtes, what kind are they, they're so RED! I love these. Red seem to really stand out in the aquarium.

Oh my goodness. :-o There are so many red Zoas! And all so beautiful. You all rock the red Zoas that's for sure. To see a colony of red zoas growing and moving down a rock in an aquarium like some of you have, it looks like lava or something to me. And you can see them from across the room, which i love.

bam bam orange ore not red in any way. here they are under straight white light. They are surely orange.

I just ordered these. I can't wait until get them tomorrow. These among MANNNY others will be my first zoanthids. They are just too colorful not to have in every tank. :D

Those are an awesome colony!
Remember those when I do a "show me your orange zoanthids" thread. I bet you can see those from across the room at night ay?

I guess i'm going to go try and get the Reverend and Seapug to post, I know for sure they have red ones too.
I'm taking notes, I think i've got a couple of favorite red types on this thread for additions to my future tank. I like the solid colors and I also like the patterned "faces" too.

I'm starting to think most of you are color blind... :p I'm seeing a lot of orange and some pink, but very little red. Anyhow, here's one with a red ring. Though now it looks a little oarngish in the photo :lol:

I was just going to ask did you get them from vivid ? lol they have them missed named. I thought they where satan's breathe but my friend bought them and he also said they are red wines. what every you want to call them they are still pretty :D

CoralFarm, are those RPE's? because i have some RPE that i bought from a fellow reefer, the pics had them a nice bright red, but i've never been able to get them brighter than a red-tinted brown.

What lighting makes red zoas pop? I just bought a T-5 hood with 10ks and acitinics, haven't turned on the 10k's yet. I'd love a lighting suggestion.

Once I put mine under some 20k radiums the red actually came out after a month or so.

There are lots of different RPE polyps.

some will only look even a little bit red in perfect conditions, others are an insane red all the time.

I have 5 different kinds of RPE's in my tank right now. 2 of them are insane, the rest are just regular old rpe's

imho, red is relatively subjective, and is especially skewed by higher kelvin lighting.

i try to let viewers tell me what colors they see, rather than professing to have specific colors for the above reasons, but these are zoas that have been described by others to me as being red (aside from safe crackers, i have never seen a zoa in person that i would call red myself, and unfortunately i don't trust internet posts with the proliferation of obvious photoshopped images).

Not sure what they are !And yes they are super red..!! and as far as Photochopped, Its not..I never owned a edit software nor would have the intelligence to use one.The only thing i did was crop the photo..Its taken under t5 lighting (12 Bulbs) and they do look the same under 4 bulbs(t5) under MH they are less intense red but its still visible..
Im almost sure you can right click the photo and look into the property's and it will show its not modified ..
