lights vs algae

Just wondering how long can u keep your lights off before it starts too effect the coral. Trying to combat a algae problem.

I would guess 3 days.

But, if all you are doing it turning off the lights for a couple of days, the algae will return in time if you don't fix the root cause of your algae growth.
