What are the differences

Any know the difference between imported Acrylic sheets and US Made sheets.
Will be used as a viewing panel for an aquarium.

There are two basic types of acrylic: extruded and cell cast. Extruded or "continuous cast" acrylic is made by a less expensive process, is softer, can scratch easier and may contain impurities. Cell cast acrylic is a higher quality acrylic and U.S. domestic cell cast is a good choice for applications that require the best. Imported cell cast acrylic is often manufactured to lesser standards.

You want something high quality for a viewing panel. Don't get imported crap, get a nice thick panel of a high end acrylic made for viewing.

I was looking at Plexiglas G in a 1.5" thick sheet http://www.lairdplastics.com/content/view/264/71/
So far this company does not want to work with me but I have a local coral shop helping me get prices.

The other quote I have is for imported and I have asked for domestic sheet cost.

I got a price from one of my vendors on a 3/4" x 48" x 96" "Acrylic" (I didn't ask any specifics) for $500.00

I sent a message back to the local guy about the sheet, seeing about a price for domestic. I also am waiting for my local store to see what prices he can get.
