Hi!
Has anyone tried to build a wavebox with a non-electronic pump like the Tunze Stream 6060? I have heard that there are some problems with the brakes because the pump is so often turned on an out. But I have also already read that someone replaced the brakes with glue and since then the pump worked well and also never run the other way round. So, any experience?

Here is the article for the modification of the brakes. It' in German but google or anything else can maybe translate it for you:
http://www.matuta.com/include.php?path=content/articles.php&contentid=811&PHPKITSID=1588918f4c6c23bc4dd2cd606c448a3a
The problem with this is that I just know the experiences of two persons: the author of this article where it worked fine and another where it didn't work (pump often started the other way round).

I just saw that the rotor of my Tunze 6100 looks the same like the one of the 6060. It also has the brakes. But everywhere I have read that the 6100 is useful for a wavebox but a 6060 not although both have the same brakes. But maybe my 6100 is a different type because it's already 3 years old...?

I think I have the solution for the problem....
You need the new hydroprop (6060.120):

(C)Tunze - www.tunze.com
Then the modified rotor should always turn the right way. The rotor of the original wavebox (6200.700) has the same propeller and also no brakes:

And I think it's worth it to spend 12$ to modify a 6060 or 6080 for the use in a wavebox, isn't it? I myself will try it...:D

any updates?

What updates? So fast? I'll need my time...:D
To be serious again: I've ordered a hydropropeller which is already on the way to me. Tomorrow I'll go surfing until Wednesday. The prop is then here and I will start to modify the stream. So you won't read anything from me the next days.
I have also written an e-mail to Tunze but they didn't answer until now, so I have ordered the prop without knowing whether it works or not. We will see...

Hi!
It doesn't work with these pumps because the motor needs the brake to define the way the rotation. Just the electronic pumps don't need the the brakes. :(
