I just purchased a 44 and 20 gal rubbermaid brute trash cans. Are they acceptable to use for storing my ro/di water(44) and premixed sw(20)? Here is the link for the 44 at home depot:

http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10051&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&productId=100138897&categoryID=500899

I also purchased the wheel base for the 44 gallon to make it easy to slide around.

Yes, they are fine. I have used them for many years for this exact purpose.

Thats great. Thanks. My 5 gallon buckets arent going to cut it for when I get my 90 up and running.

When I had my 450 up and running, I kept 2 40 gallon brutes. One with RO/DI and the other with fresh SW. That way I was always ready for a water change or emergencies.

How long can made up SW last?

I have never kept it for more than two weeks, as I was doing regular water changes. Not sure on the answer to be honest.

I have never gone over 10 days or so but was just curious.
