Maybe, maybe not... It's one of those things that you won't know until you try. I wouldn't suggest it and if you really want to do two Acanthurus I'd look for two less similar looking fish. Neither fish are partcularly hardy and have a pretty poor survival rate in aquaria, so the added stress of agression between the two species just isn't a good idea IMO. If you must try it get two fish that are different sizes and add them at the same time.

Do you want two Acanthurus or just two tangs?

in a tank that large, i think it would be okay. make sure to have some good rockwork and getting them at different sizes would be good.

If it's my tank and I want two Acanthurus... I'd go with one of the two you mentioned and be very careful about getting a healthy specimen and preferably an Achilles from Hawaii should you go that dirtection. The other Acanthurus would be a Acanthurus dussumieri or tennenti. Two subtly beautiful fish that just don't get the attention they deserve.

i would also suggest adding the powder brown first as usually achilles tangs are much more agressive than powder browns

powder brown's can get real nasty, if you are going to do both I would only try if you can add at the same time.
