I've been doing a ton of research on which skimmer would work best for my BC 29 and I seem to be more confused than when I started. Seems most have tries the CPR, Remora, Sapphire and Tunze but I'm also wondering about the Precision Marine, Octopus 100, Warner and Bermuda Rouge.

I can't seem to find any real information about the Precision Marine and Warner, don't know if or how the Octopus or Rouge would fit with respect to the 3 rear chambers and have no idea if I can even get a mag 3 in the middle section to accomidate the rouge.

Any and all input would be appreciated, but I', really looking to hear about the Remora, Octopus, PM, Warner, Sapphire and Rouge.

I've been pretty happy with my AquaC Remora thus far.

Can't comment on the others, but I'd be willing to bet the Deltec MCE600 is the best out there for your application (if you can afford the $600 price tag)...

Tunze all the way! If you have the hood you need to do a slight modification to fit the collection cup, if you're running a topless tank you have no worries. I have been impressed with my little 9002.

Any problems with water problems affecting preformance with the Tunze?

The warner marine h1 rocks, they are having a problem with the mounting bracket not going over some of the larger tank size rims but i see no problem like that with your tank, a little more money than a RO but i think you would be very happy with its performance

Oceanic Airstone skimmer rocks! J/K! I have one, and it does work, but I am sure not as well as any of those listed. But hey, at 1/5 the cost, I wasn't expecting the Rolls Royce either...:)

Tunze's are hands down still the best, the Deltec is also a good skimmer, but those are the only two I would consider out of the bunch

I used the Remora for along time good quality skimmer, but now I have the tunze 9002, and it really is great, easy to use, super quiet too, you have to look at the bubbles to make sure its on. THe Remora was much louder, Im not sure how the others fair but if noise is a concern as well the Tunze takes it there as well.

Tunze getting a lot of votes here, I've heard that it is very tempermental with water level changes. Any input?

Most nano skimmers are very sensitive to water level fluctuations.

If you have the money, you can get the Deltec MC300 which is a hang on the back skimmer, is not as finicky about water fluctuations, and pulls dark skimmate just like the Tunze.

The Tunze 9002 will not work well unless you have an ATO setup or you top off your reef tank at least a couple of times per day. Even the slightest evaporation leads to underproduction of skimmate from the Tunze (IME)

Am looking too and Remora hang on seems the most popular. I am setting up a fish only 60 gal, need a hang on and don't want a big pump hanhing in the back. People seem to thinh that little powerhead on the medium remora does the trick. Is it noisy?

I just bought a Tunze recently, and am very happy with it. Its working well and I haven't had to tweak it hardly at all.

I'll be buying a second one for another tank soon (after I save a little money).
