For ever it was a given that the inside ofa canopy is supposed to be white, and I accepted that, painted then white and called it a day.
Well now I am wondering, I am making an open top tank. The canopy will be about 12" above the tank. I want the light to end up in the tank, and not so much on the floor around the tank. I was thinking, maybe painting the canopy black inside would help reduce the reflected light from bouncing around in there and reflecting out where I do not want it.
What do you think? Will I help reduce the light outside the tank by painting my canopy inside black?
I realize, most the light will be directed down by the reflects, but that light that is bounced off the water back up will not radiated back down again, as it would with a white canopy.
What ya think?
