Something in my tank has been taking chunks out of my devils hand leather (Lobophytum)/. I suspect it to be a crab, or some other invertebrate. Fish are ruled out, as they are all 100% reef safe. How can I go about catching the unwanted pest?

Nothing is 100% reef safe, so you shouldn't rule out anything. What livestock do you have in the tank?

Take a good look at your leather to make sure you don't see any nudibranchs (referred to as Tritoniopsis or Tritonia). They commonly come in with leather corals which is their prey.

Fish are out: ocellaris, royal gramma, sailfin tang, fire fish, bi color blenny.
I've had all these fish and the leather for months (at least since October '07) with no problems.
