Ive been using coralife but advise against it. When absorbed in water I found my Cal and Alk always being off balance. I wasnt sure what it was and than saw a Randy Holmes Farley article here that shows the paramaters of different salt brands and as I was seeing it was like 550 in cal and 2.5 in alk and Mag only 1200. You can find this thread on top of water chemistry I believe, very informative on different brands of salt

Why do you say that? It was tested to have 450 of Cal, an Alk of 8.5 and Mag of 1380, so assuming you didn't have high demands for those, you wouldn't have to dose at all.

Should be noted that I use TM Pro, but I also dose -- heavy SPS tanks.

The numbers I quoted came from here,

You crazy. Tropic Marin Pro is the best there is. It has everything your corals need, why do you feel you would need to dose. Any ways I obviously like Tropic Marin if you can find it. I am using Reef Crystals now. Like it so far. Stay from Oceanic, IO, and Coral Life is so so. I have used several different reef salts and never really saw a huge difference from brand to brand. Some have extra vitamins, some dont desolve so well. They all have good amounts of ca, alk and mag from my testing.

I use a 50/50 mix of IO and Oceanic with great results.

Tropic Marin takes my vote!
High end quality...as expected from a German brand name.

I think it's all personal preference and what you want to run your tank parameters at. I use Seachem Reef. Most of the reef salt mixes are decent. Just my .02. Here is a link that someone did:
