I might be getting a 4x2x2.5 (ft) tank with a 3(ft) x 15 x 12(inch) sump. About 170 gal

And since it would be an LPS and Softie i would like to know if this stocklist would be ok

1x Yellow Tang
1x Regal Tang
2x Common Clownfish
2x Truncate Anthias
1x Green Clown Goby
2x Firefish
2x Royal Gramma
1x Humbug Damsel
1x Cleaner Wrasse

i would wait for others to chime in i have a 135 softy and lps tank, with only 4 or 5 sps, since you have more water volume i say you could at least add like 5 or 6 more fish, but i am rebel when it coems to fish in a reef tank.

The damsel is going to be fairly aggressive and may harass the other fish. The cleaner wrasse will most likely be dead in 3 weeks due to starvation/malnutrition. The regal will outgrow the tank eventually plus these guys are really susceptible to HLLE. 2 firefish in one tank is taking a risk as they may end up battling it out. Same for the Royal Grammas.

What's a "common clownfish?" Are you referring to the Ocellaris?

they are called common clowns in england.

1. i have my cleaner wrasse already he is nearly a year old
2. i have a my pair of firefish atm
3. i have my royal gramma's and they are fine.
4. i have my humbug and he is not aggresive

the ones i don't have are the tangs, the anthias and the goby.

the regal tang will get large fast, and aggressive fast, and is very likely to get sick. as for having more fish, I would say so. I have about that many fish in my 75g and plan to add a few more, but it depends on preference.

I'm impressed that you've been able to keep a cleaner wrasse alive for that long. What does he eat?

Anything, you give him, he even bit a whole into a breeder to get food i was dropping into there. He especially likes flakes more than anything else. I've had him for almost 8 months now and he is still going strong.

When you say cleaner wrasse are you referring to a Labroides?

I'd skip the regal as well. There is a bunch of nice tangs you can do in a 170 Gallon Tang. How about a powder blue or a convict tang?

Naso Tangs are pretty mild mannered as well, but a 4FT tank might be a little small for them.
