Do you have any zoanthids? If so, you will have a better chance of long term success with a potters.

That's tough to say...Regals are twice as expensive as Potters, have lower success rates as far as long term survival and can demolish more of your reef faster than a Potters can...and yet so many people will pick a Regal over a Potters for a reason...I know I did..their beauty is equal to no other fish IMO. My Red Sea Regal is eating pellets, Nori, Mysis, Angel Formula with sponges and everything else I feed my other fish. The key is to find one that's eating at LFS before you purchase it. Good luck deciding between the two as I don't envy your situation. Both are beautiful fish. Can't go wrong either way.

Both beautiful, touchy, and hit or miss in a reef tank. I've kept both. The potters wouldn't eat and hid a lot. The regal mysteriously died after less than a year, of a nutritional deficiency I suspect.

I have found regals to be reefsafe, with the exception of zoanthids and brain type corals. The Potters like all dwarfs will hit you corals, but some do it less often and don't cause any real damage. I currently have a regal I love. I also had a Potters. He was relatively reefsafe and didn't cause any real damage. I though, man he can use a girlfriend. The girlfriend was a coral destroyer. He learned quickly from her and in two weeks they killed a 10 inch green slimer.
