i got a small platygyra frag a couple months ago. it is about 2" round. what is the best way to place it in the tank? it is growing nicely and looking sweet. how should it be mounted? right now it is sitting on a piece of LR. should i just lay it on the sand, glue it to a rock? glue it up on a small pedastal? i have no experience with this coral yet. thanks.
tank is a 58g (36x18) with a 250w ushio blue mh

They are encrusting corals so it should be mounted to a flat piece of rock (old montipora skeletons work great!). Try to make the growth edge sit flush with the mounting rock so it can easily encrust and try to keep sand off of the edges. They can be placed almost anywhere once acclimated to your light but we prefer the bottom 1/3 of the tank

No prob =)

Forgot to mention you can use gel superglue or epoxy to stick it down, we prefer gel superglue because it tends to be less traumatic for the coral

I have mine in a 40 brd. at the top of the tank. It is under Pheonix 14K 250's. I slowly acclimated it to the high light but it is growing leaps and bounds now!

Here it is at the top.
