So I'd like to start correcting the Instant Ocean I use for water changes on my little reef, to push the calcium up into the 450 range. B-ionic calcium says one drop per gallon will raise calcium by 16 ppm. So for my 5 gallon bucket of Instant Ocean, I'd like to add ~30 drops of the calcium buffer to push the inherent 350 ppm up into the 450 ppm range.

Does this mean I should add the alkalinity buffer also, in the same ratio?

Thanks

You should dose to the level that you desire in the water change bucket. If your new water reads 8dKH and you want 10 then dose accordingly.

Good Luck!
