i use a 8x54w t5 fixture that is connected to ao1 on a dc8. my program is

if time>1030 then lt1 on
if time>2230 then lt1 0ff

when lt1 is off, periodically it flickers on then off. it does it several times a night. any help would be appreciated. also, i will add that every other aspect of my ac3 works wonderfully. really a pleasure to have. would recommend neptune sys. products to my friends. thanks.

I'm glad that you like the controller. Outlets 1-3, and 4-7 of the DC8 use triac (solid state device) to turn on/off the power. When they are off, there is a small amount of voltage (< 5 volts) that is still present. Maybe that is enough to cause the ballast to fire periodically. Try putting the ballast on outlet #4 or #8 as they are relays, and when off the voltage will be 0 volts.

Curt, I was wondering if any of the DC8 outlets were relay. I am running Korallia's alternating on and off in my Frag Tank plugged into 7&8...8 worked 7 did not turn off.

I read in the instructions to use the DC4 or HDDC4...I have an HDDC4 so I put both on that and it worked, but I wondered about why it had worked on outlet 8...now I know.

If you serial number is > 9000 then ports 4 and 8 are relay, all other ports are triac controlled. If it is a lower SN then all ports are triac controlled.

Thanks I'll check...so it's the new ones that have the relay then?

Yes, the newer ones have 2 relayed ports (4 and 8).
