So I'm about to delve into the World of the Mantis and will most likely be ordering a Peacock in a fews days. The question is...male or female? Any significant differences between the two?

One has a penis. The other does not.

Seriously, I have seen it posted that the females tend to be more outgoing and active. Other than that, I'll wait for Roy to chime in.

Yup - males have the pair of gonopods and are generally a lot more green.
Females tend to be olive/tan/brown.

Is there any difference in the size of swimmerettes between the two? If I remember correctly from a class I had you can visually sex crayfish and lobsters this way. The only thing I can't remember is which has larger swimmerettes and which has smaller ones :)
