I've had my heater plugged into my Ranco Controller to that the cheap heater can not stick on and cook my tank.

I recently upgraded from X10's to a DC8.

Do you think controlling the upper limit with my AquaController and the DC8 is as good as the reliable Ranco controller?

Thanks!
Joyce

Personally... I would stick with the Ranco for the temp control aspect. Not because the DC8's arent reliable (I have NO experience with them) but because the Ranco's are EXTREMELY reliable. I use them on many commercial heating and cooling applications at work (large climate controlled food storage facility)

I have a DC8 on my AC3 and it works great. That said if you have the Ranco I'd use it.. In fact you could use both if you wanted. The Ranco's have a great track record. Most electronic guys say the Ranco's have much better components then most of our hobby made stuff.

Yes, I was leaning towards using the Ranco.

Thanks!
