something allegedly eats cyano and diatoms: chitons. and possibly the chestnut cowrie---may take after softies if desperate. At a certain time it should go to the sump, perhaps.

I have not personally checked out either of these, but so many people suffer repeatedly from these problems I thought I would mention them, because a tangled trail of research ran me into these sites. Just google the names and read up. May not be your solution, may not be cost effective, but it might be worth a look.
