I am way new to Salt Water and my skimmer took a dump lastnight and gives me a reson to buy a new one. I just dont know what model I need. I have a 46g bow front with soft corals and no fish. Some arrows in the right direction would be great. I dnt know what the best filters are I was just pointed to the octopus HoB, if other filters are suggested Im open just need to get one ordered.

TY for help in advance... Craig

I've used the HB-100SS. It was mesh-modded and seemed to skim pretty well. The only complaint that I had was micro bubbles; but try to find a HOB skimmer that doesn't produce micro bubbles.

Or, there's thes bad boys. Not even close to inexpensive, but apparently they skim circles around other HOBs.

Aqua C Remora is generally a reliable performer.
