Let me know what you think. The new Leather and Bubble are just awesome!! The pic with all the fish and all the Tangs I thought was a treat to get them all in there at once. That's not very easy!! ;)

Enjoy

very nice. how about a full tank shot.

also a back ground would look better IMO.

also, I can tell the tangs are small now but be prepared to upgrade in about a year. 2 of those tangs will outgrow the tank and possiably the trigger.

Oh, I know I need a background. I am far from a full tank shot. None of my button polyps are propagating. I have more coming in though.

The tank you are looking at is a 75gal. The tangs will outgrow it? I really wanted to get a 150, but this is my first shot at a reef tank.

Thanks.

ya the tangs will out grow the 75 quick the one tang you have should be kept in a tank around 6 feet or larger

Can anyone suggest a background? What looks best?

A black background looks the best

That's what I was thinking. Either black or blue.

Your Vlamingi tang will out grow a 150 and they grow fast!

I think the black background will make the colors pop more than a blue.

most ppl paint the back of the tank but you can also use a dark windo tint, or the backing from a fish store.

as for the fish this is about how big they can grow.
niger triggerfish - 19.7 in.
pacific blue tang - 12.2 in.
Naso vlamingi - 24 in.

the yellow tang is hard to tell what kind it is though. plus they need lots of swimming room. in the ocean they will swim for miles to graze on food.

since when are nigers reef safe?

according to Scott W. Michael

"Niger Triggerfish can be housed in a reef aquarium, but may nip at sponges, tunicates, ornamental shrimp, and snails. Harmless to corals. To keep with cleaner shrimp, add the crustacean first."

does your water have a yellow tint?

looks like the white balance of the camera is off. + has some green algae film on the glass.

I love my dark blue background, you can check my build thread to see it. I used Krylon Fusion spray paint (it says for plastics, but works well with glass too). I've had black before on freshwater, they're both nice. I just like the blue in the marine tank as it gives the appearance IMO of the tank fading into the ocean.
