How long have you had your Clown Trigger & did it ever go on a Killing Rampage???

Want to know if the Jeckle and Hyde syndrome is more the norm or the noisy exceptions... really want to add one but been really hesitant on it at the same time because I like my other fish!

i had mine for 2.5 years and its one of the most docile fish i have i had it since it was tiny and i NEVER feed it live food. your best bet would probably be to get a the smallest one you can get and never feed him anything live. good luck

Ive had mine for about 2 years. And he's perfectly fine with everything that was in there before him, a small ocellaris clown, damsels, eels, puffers, other triggers, etc. But its a menice to anything new that i introduce to the tank. It kills almost everything. Although i did get away with a large wrasse and a niger trigger :] Other than being agressive to new introductions, he's a model citizen ...

I have an 8" CT, bought him when he was ~6" and never ever has bothered any other fish - granted he gives a little chase once in a while to let the others know who's the boss. Had him a year and a half now. I have seen some in pet stores that would eat your finger off if they were given the opportunity. I waited to find the right one and it paid off for me.

Zoom nice CT and in a reef tank too! Nice ! Wouldn't think that would be possible especially with the clownfish but that's awesome!

Wolverine ... what did he kill and were they the old tankmates or new additions after you got him?

Everything had been in the tank for 1.5-2 years at the time; I honestly don't remember the precise order off the top of my head, since I took that tank down in '00 or '01. He tore up a cobalt niger trigger, dominoe damsel, purple pseudchromis, power head, anything I put in the tank, after ignoring those things up until that point. There were a few other fish in that tank, but I don't remember what they were off the top of my head. There had been a lionfish in there, but we got rid of that before this happened.

It is very possible to get a crazy one on any fish type.
I had to get a PBT out of the tank because was killing everything in the tank .
So far this one is very docile the large Clown fish is his friend  He hates the six line wrase but it is no way he can get a hold of it yet they are to fast.
My first one eat the cord from the tunze stream pump good thing it is only 24V wire but cost me a new pump now I rap the wires up so he can not bite them.

That's true. However, some with fish species, such as CT, you can expect it over time. I didn't believe that at the time, and learned my lesson. Then, working at a store that did maintenance, I got to watch several other people ignore advice and learn that lesson.

True, I had a pinktail trigger I bought at the same time as my clown trigger to go nuts. Ate (literally every piece) three good sized anthias and died from over eating.

Mine is 8 3/8" and had it since 4/1/06. Very peaceful with all fish and cleaner shrimp. No live foods.

I recently lost my 9in CT, due to it eating the silicon sealer, and blocking its intestines.

I had him for 6 years. I have recently bought another CT to replace him. Its only about 5in, and already it is attacking my 12in Groupers. They have no fear!!

That sucks! What size was it when you got it 6 years prior? Curious about its growth rate.....what size tank and foods?

Nice thread. Out of curiousity, could people on both sides list their tank size? It would be nice to see if anything indicates it is more common in smaller tanks.
