Ok, so I bought a finger leather a few days ago, and its melting (drooping), and breaking apart. It was in a high flow area, and it was all bunched up, so I placed it in a medium flow area, and the results are the same, all my parameters are all ok and within "reef compatible" ranges.

Every other coral is doing perfect, except for my frogspawn which has been completely retracted now for 4 weeks for no reason, even after different location moves

I googled it and most pictures showed them up near the top of the rocks. So fingers appear to like a lot of light.
Is your light underneath clean or salt encrusted?

My coral is right ontop of the rock structure under a 250 MH. And it has nothing in the way in terms of any obstruction

I came home from work just now, and it was completely flat on the rockwork. I noticed browning and flaking off of the most outer layer. Is this a parasite that could be eating it?

sometimes they'll do that to get rid of wastes, other times before they split, sometimes due to pests, and sometimes because of disease. Do you have any pictures?

also, start a thread in the softies forum. you'll surely get more attention than here.
