I added 25 lbs of live sand, and the sump and display tank are all really foggy. How long will it take for it to clear?

Should I have the koralia 2 off? (26g bowfront).

No more than a few days- live rock would help.

Could always try a little water clarifier, however I prefer things to just run their course. Its normal and you are fine.... just kep testing.. Oh and more live rock always helps!

What kinda filters/skimmers you running? Those usually aid the quickest in clearing it up. Try a carbon filter but you'll need to rinse it often for a day or two to help get the crud out.

I'm running a mag 5 pump and a hob whisper filter 30 that's currently off. no skimmer atm.. i have to buy it later.

So i guess i'm going to turn the filter on :p

It took mine a bout 5 days to clear up. Each day you could see a little further into the water. I thought it was going to take forever :)

My tank cleared overnight, but i also made sure to rinse the sand until only clear water was coming out of the bucket. I had my skimmer running, i'm sure that also helped a lot.

Has anyone ever tried just opening up the sand bag inside the tank then pulling up on the bag?

I'll try that next time if I ever need a new sand bed.

Great, i would still consider getting a protein skimmer soon, probably the best piece of equipment for a reef tank (aside from lights)

i always put a trashbag over my sand when i setup my first and second tank then filled it up with water and took the bag out so it reduced how much crap got floating around and my water cleared really fast probably 8 hours or so...
