My tank keeps having bubbles attached to things. Recently some of my SPS have had bubbles attached to them. I can't think of the source of the bubbles. I took my wet/dry/skimmer off because the sump cracked. So I don't have any equipment making bubbles.

What could it be?

Air bubbles floating around in the tank that seem to stick? Is there any kind of hairy/fuzzy matte with the bubbles? If so, you might be having a spike in nitrates from going without a skimmer, leading to an algae outbreak, or it could be your plumbing was re-arranged and is now shooting air in the water column? Can you post a pic?

rinse it in hot tapwater inside and out. this will help some, but a couple of days may pass before they will stop completly.

There is no plumbing at the moment. I just have three power heads, and a heater. My nitrates did go up from 5 to 10 in the past couple months. Getting ready to do a water change now, I do 4 gallons a week on my 40. So I don't know what it could be...

I was thinking it could be my sand bed maybe? Its a 1" shallow sand bed. Sometimes I see bubbles on it. Maybe I don't have enough sand stirrers, or maybe not enough flow?
