Question on Aqua C Urchin Pro Skimmer Collection Cup Setting?

I just purchased the Aqua C Protein Skimmer and was wondering what desired height setting works best for the collection cup? About how high should the collection cup be to get the best results?

push it to the bottom and measure whats above the o-ring to the top of the cup with the lid on.
remove the cup and slide the o-ring down 3/8" was usually the best setting i had for wet and dry skimmate.
the higher the cup, the dryer the skimmate will be.
