I purchased some Watermelon zoas from an online vendor. Their listing picture shows what I consider to be a typical Whammin Watermelon polyp. The frag that they sent has very tiny little polyps on it that don't look anything like the watermelon zoas I've ever seen. I'll leave the vendor's name out of this until I can figure out exactly what I received.
Here is a photo comparison between what they advertised(inset image) and what they shipped(main image).

The frag with a penny for scale. Those things are tiny!!!!

So, did I get tiny little watermelons that will change over time or did I get completely ripped off?

Wow, they do look pretty small. Cant you return them?

I can return them, but the additional shipping cost wouldn't be worth it.

On a positive note, the online vendor just gave me a full refund for the zoas and shipping. The other corals I've purchased from them have been fine so far. Nice to see Piece OF The Reef do the right thing.
Do you have a pic of what you recieved under actinic only? I'd like to see that if poss.
You've got to give kudos to your vendor for refunding all of your costs!

Looks like you received green bay packers instead of whammin watermelons. Still cool looking zoos but that sucks when you don't get what you paid for. Good thing they gave you a refund.

Sounds like a pretty good vendor and quick reponse also. +1 for them in my book.

On the bright side, those can be quite pretty when happy and healthy.

Glad to hear that you got your money back. The zoas you got are rather common.

they are both commons. if anything I would say green bay packers are less common, but commons just the same

I'm not into the whole rare vs. common zoa thing. I add zoas to my aquarium because I like how they look. The frag was very reasonably priced(shipping not so much) even for "common" zoas. I was just annoyed that I didn't get what I originally paid for.
Fortunately the tiny zoas I did receive will look very nice once they grow in based on Peter Eichler's photo. Thanks!

Agreed. Peters look awesome.
He should submit them to coralpedia so they can get added as they look better than any of the ones they currently have pics of.
