Been looking for one for a little while now and not having much luck. Local LFS aren't too good either, and I've pretty much given up on them. I've been watching Divers Den, Just Rare Fish, and Ebay pretty regularly, but don't really know of anywhere else to look. Don't want a 'banana' phase either. Small size (12-14") preferable but not a must. Please pm me or post here if you can help. Thanks.

you should send a message to one of the ebay florida collectors asking them specifically for one. I did that for a different critter and he got me one. name was "olddiver" but i dont think he sells there anymore.

they also come up at swf dot com occasionally, add yourself to email list.

and not just divers den but check their collectors corner - some neat stuff shows up there time to time.

You can also try www.divertom.com. He is in Tavernier too, and a good guy. Tom is a fish collector, and knows the local species pretty well. Call or write, and send him a pic of what you want.

www.reeftopia.com is known for good service, but I don't know if he will be able to get you an eel or not.

Thanks Lisa! Tom seems to have one available, so I sent him an email. Again, thanks for the help everyone! :)

I've got high hopes for Tom - the goldentail is listed at $48 which is very good IMO. If he hasn't emailed me by tomorrow night, I'm going to call him. I'll let y'all know how it goes.

Edit: literally right when I get done posting this I get an email from Tom saying he sold the goldentail today. Oh well, I'm going to see if he can get another :)

I've met Tom and visited his place several times. that is a good price, but be prepared, shipping is going to kill you. if you can, you might look into placing an an order for other things, maybe with a group. Tom doesn't have a flat rate $35 or $45 shipping deal, and he's going to have to pass the cost to you. I guarantee shipping FedEx will be at least $100, maybe more... you should have this discussion with him soon. it wouldn't stop me from getting the eel I wanted, but it'll be good to have an idea of how big a hit you will take.

Bo, I have been on the "email me" list with Saltwaterfish.com for the Goldentail as I am also interested in one. They have had it in stock a few times in the last month.

Bo
did you ever hear back from Diver Tom?

You can have him ship it via southwest airlines and pickup at your nearest airport.

Shipping would be a little cheaper that way.

He's looking for one, but said the last one took him over a month to get. We'll see what happens. I'm not sure how I'm going to ship it. I might order a couple other things from him too to make shipping a bit more worth it.

Hey Bo, Thinking about possibly selling my goldentail? Not sure, you still looking for one? May want to sell the Millaris with the SFE together. Fell like I need to ease up the bio-load on my tank. Interested. They look really good together. The contrast of colors looks really nice. I'll send you a PM Tim

Thanks for the heads up Tim. Do y'all think $250 is a little high for that goldentail? When I see them locally, they are usually between $75-125 depending on size and color. That one does have some size to it though...

Yes I think it is a bit expensive. I think larger ones should be cheaper actually. Still very interested in selling my eel. So I will be in touch. I think I am going to put him up on the sale area just to let you know. Tim
