Just wondering if this stuff is supposed to work like a phos/carbon combo or should you run in conjunction with carbon. Or if its junk and to not use it at all and just stick with phos and carbon. I'm starting my first sps tank and just wondering what I could do for nutrient control besides a complicated UNLS like zeo or others like it.Not that i wont in the future but i just want to start simple. If not the chemipure then what phos and carbon do others use? Thanks

I use elite and regular in a phosphate reactor. It's been about 2 months now and have noticed clearer water and less algae growth but I also dose polyp lab's reef-resh(like Zeo).

I say use it

what is the reef-resh used for?

I use chem pure elite and love it. I don't run it all the time tho... about 3 weeks on 1 week off.

do you discard it after the three weeks or just let it sit idle and then use the same batch. Also do you run carbon as well as the chemi pure?

reef-resh is for low nutrient systems and I'm guessing the other user discards the first unit and gets another one, don't think it would be effective after being dry again.

I use the elite. I saw a decrease in algae growth when I started using it. I run it passively in the sump, but would work better in a reactor. Elite is carbon and po4 remover, works well IMO.
