This is my newly obtained tank. So far all I got is my penguin bio wheel and my heater. I am ordering a powerhead and thermometer. That is on the way then I am going to hopefully get my mushrooms and some coral. This also has salt in it too.

Here is my Penguin Bio Wheel 100.

Then my tank with water and salt. This also has 3.5lbs of base rock. I am planning on getting 10lbs total soon.

Couple suggestions-- a sandbed can be a good thing in a tank that small. You also ought to remove all the media out of that powerfilter and put some rock and perhaps a bag of good quality carbon in it. Once you get the rest of your rock, let the tank run for at least 2-3 weeks before adding any corals or fish.

What kind of lighting are you planning to use?

I'm not super experienced but if this is your first tank, take it really slow. It's harder to keep a 10 gallon because the water chemistry is so demanding since there is such little volume. If you want the mushroom corals look into getting either a clip on or a small power compact light, that should work well for a 10 gallon. You could also put one or two little fish in there and a snail to keep it clean. Good luck. PS spend the extra money and just buy water from a LFS
