I added a sailfin tang tonight and he has gotten a bit of fin damage. It looks like he got nipped at a little bit. There is one small tare and a scrape on his fin. Will this heal itself and grow back?

Yes it will grow back, it may take longer the more he is stressed out.

Cool...good to know.
Things have calmed down. I think he's learned his place.
As soon as I put him in (he's about 4") he went right after my 10" naso and 6" foxface! Not really aggressive but just kinda trying to push them around.
I think he was using prison yard logic.

Sailfins are a little on the aggresive side. With those big fish he should learn who is boss.
My fish have always had their fins grow back, I'd expect it in your case as well. But he seems like a fighter, so he may lose more before they have a chance to grow back out!

If it doesn't happen repeatedly, yes. But chronic fin damage would lead to some scarring.
