I used a PVC desktop book shelf, cut it down to size, zip-locked bird netting around it, then cut a hole in the top and stuffed it with chaetomorpha. It works really well, and I just love rubbermaid sumps.

I made bubble traps from large diameter PVC.

Water exits through cutouts at the bottom of the towers. Not completely bubble proof but they help a lot.
I also used a 90 degree elbow to move the return feed as far away from these as possible in the sump.
