i have these little white specks on my glass and they almost seem to be crawling around. They are so tiny it is impossible to get a clear pic of them any clues as to what they might be?

They are an excellent find and very beneficial to your tank. Copepods and other types of organisms are a very good thing. Check out your tank at night with a flash light and you'll have quite a few questions after you see whats crawling around when the lights go out.

copepods can be rather hard to ID without magnification, but that's likely what you're seeing. it's kind of entertaining to watch them scurry about when you shine lights in the tank at night, and I often find myself doing that in the sump after the lights go out.
