I use to be able to grow cheto like crazy, and have sold a bunch of it in the past. Now I can't get it to grow. my tank is a 75g 20g sump/fuge the parameters are listed below. could it be there is not getting enough nutrients in the tank?

Maybe not enough nutrients. Maybe it is now iron limited. You might try dosing iron for it. :)

Yes, in the article, but I presently use Fergon iron tablets from a drug store dissolved and settled in RO water. Not cheaper than buying Seachem's freshwater iron supplement (which is the same basic chemical), but I can know/control what is there better.

something else you might try
is to take your chaeto ball and cut it in half w/ SCISSORS (rather then pulling it apart like most people do)... the chaeto grows from the ends so by having more 'ends' (from cutting it w/ the scissors ) then should = more growth... we have had a hard time getting chaeto to grow in this system since it was put in... but once we cut the ball in half we have gotten better growth out of it albeit still not like others who report harvesting 1-2x/mth

you might also try adding more light.

good luck
