I love all of your mantis shrimp. Are mantis safe with triggers? I would like to get a mantis but have triggers in all of my tanks.

Mantis are best in a tank by themselves. They can kill all your fish and snails and hermits.

Also triggers natural food is crustaceans. Im sure a decent sized shrimp could hold off 1 maybe 2 triggers but more than that and your mantis may even end up food. Allthough there is a story of a large male peacock taking out like 5 or 6 clown triggers. Hard to say but I would keep them seperate. :D

Thanks for all of the input. I'm going to setup a mantis only tank.
Have a couple of other questions:
Can more than one mantis be keep together?
What size tank do I need?

maybe, probably not unless you have a big tank, or the spp you get is very very docile!!!
What size tank do I need?
depends on the spp, and care you give it

Seen the lurkers guide to stomatopods?
http://www.blueboard.com/mantis/
It's a nice overview of mantis shrimp in general and some general information as well as input from people who have kept them.
