under perfect circumstances they can go for days.

Its the unkown conditions they end up in when they are delayed in transit along with how well they are packaged and how well they are packeged for the circumstances.

Hope for the best and see what happens.

A couple things to help your cause though......

DONT dip them. This is where a qt tank is great. I would put them in a 5 gallon bucket of tankwater with a powerhead before i would put them in a display without dipping. But if they are really stressed the last thing you want to do is add to it.

I dont know how you acclimate, but DO NOT drip acclimate or do the cup in cup out thing you hear recommended by some. If the water is espeically nasty and has any ammonia in it, the ammonia doesnt become toxic until you offgas the CO2 and introduce oxygen. Just float to temp in the bag and as soon as you open the bag get them out of the water they shipped in and into good water.

The only time any acclimation is needed besides floating to temp is for some inverts, and if the salinity of the water they shipped in is signifigantly lower than yours. otherwise float to temp and get them out of the water they shipped in. This goes for all corals.

good luck.

I have had some stuck in transit for about 4 days before (1 day stuck on plane due to snow) and most survived. The other got a fungle infection and metled. I often get zoa's shipped to me (fortnightly) and avg transit time is about 2days & they are always fine. Shame the same cant be said for the care fedex put into handling the parcel.

i think it mostly depends on temp and if it's getting tossed around a lot.
