Over time do DSB dissolves? I see some reefers change there sand as it goes bad too old they say or dissolves in to calcium to help the water.
Anyone have seen this?

What should a deep sand bed depth be I read many saying different depths?
As to all reefers what is a good deep do you use that works for you?

My DSB in my 150 ranges from 4 - 6" deep. I aslo have a 65 gal sump with 8 - 12 " of the same sand. Tanks been running for about 4 years like this and I don't have any issues with the sand and have not changed it or added any. I have heard similar ideas that they get "old" so I will be interested in hearing others input. Good post.
