castus new, how to shade from mh?

i just hot a castus, how do I shade it from the new 250 mh bulbs? I t is in the bottom of the tank.IWhen the lights first come on, I see it start to show the cactus spikes, then they go away, so i am assuming that the lights are too bright.and it is getting burned

Sounds like you need to put it under a cliff. May need to rearrange a rock or two.
