I'm going to use a WM AS-200 on my 90G build. I don't have it fired up yet but the build quality looks top notch.

I love my MSX300, you could go with a MSX200 and it would rock a 90g

I would say a C&C 125R if space is a consideration, and a C&C 250S if space is not a consideration. Best is relative as Bubble Kings are very nice and their mini series, the 160/180 and 200 is excellent. I have heard that the KZ revolution skimmers are excellent too, but I have never seen or had one.
I would say the C&Cs are the best bang for the buck, but by no means are they the only option, not are these here the only option. The warner marines look nice too.......
So many choices......

+1 on the msx200. I am running that in my 90 and works great. Well within your price range.

I have an AquaC EV-180 on my 90RR and it does an excellent job. It is a very reputable/high quality skimmer. I paid $390 (marinedepot has the monopoly on this skimmer).

msx 200 would me my recommendation, i would not really consider it a relative of a bubble king, but i love my 200 on my 90 gal.

I had a bubblemaster on my 90 and I think it did a great job. I had about 11 fish in there too haha.

It lookslike yours has a removeable bubble plate. Do you know when they went to that setup? That was one of the main reasons I didn't look further at those.

I thought the AS series have always had the removable bubble plate. I know they have a series that does not come with a bubble plate, maybe you were looking at that model.
